June 16, 2010
Dear
Member,
Welcome back for
the summer 2010! We are happy to report
that once again there will be no
increase in Membership Dues or Session
Fees. Our fundraising activities have
been successful in helping us to meet
the financial obligations and operating
needs of the club. Please continue to
support us in these efforts and
encourage your friends, family and
neighbors to do the same.
Registration for
sailing and tennis begins today. We
have a few changes this year. Please
note that we now require a copy of your
child’s medical form. Also, in
accordance with the WYC by-laws, a
membership application is required per
individual family. The forms are
attached and will soon be available on
our website. If you choose to mail
the forms, please send them to Deborah
Guinee at 14 Wauketa Road, Gloucester,
MA 01930. Deborah is managing our
registration. We must have the waiver
on file prior to attending classes. We
will hold an in-person registration for
the season at the tennis courts on
Saturday, June 26th, from
10:00 a.m. to 12:00 am.
This year
commemorates our 45th
anniversary! A special dinner dance is
planned to “Salute the Commodores” that
have played a part in the history and
tradition of summers at Wingaersheek
beach. The event is scheduled for
Saturday, July 24th at The
Bass Rocks Golf Club in Gloucester,
Massachusetts. We hope you will be able
to join us for a fun evening of
nostalgia, dinner and dancing. We will
be reaching out to many of our friends
and neighbors who have been a part of
our history and hope to make this
evening especially memorable. If you
know of any member or past commodore
that may have moved, please let us
know. Also, if you or your family has
photographs you would like to share for
our displays, please send them to us.
We will copy and return them to you
promptly.
Finally, we are
excited that summer has almost arrived!
As the tennis courts are groomed and the
boats are waxed and inspected, we are
reminded of the friendships that have
developed and the fun times that have
made our summers so special. We hope
that you and your families have enjoyed
a happy, healthy winter and look forward
to seeing you all in the coming weeks.
Best,
The Wingaersheek
Executive Board 2010
